Welcome to SplitSpat ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains our approach to privacy when you use our mobile application SplitSpat (the "App"). Please read this privacy policy carefully.

App Store Disclosure: Due to third-party advertising in our app, the App Store privacy label indicates that data may be "Used for Third-Party Advertising," "Linked to the user's identity," and "Used for tracking purposes." This refers specifically to advertising networks' data collection practices, not SplitSpat's core functionality.

2. No Data Collection by SplitSpat

We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal information.

SplitSpat is designed with privacy in mind. All your data including:

• Expense records and descriptions
• Payment amounts and dates
• Group information and member details
• Settlement information
• Any names, contacts, or personal information you enter

...is stored locally on your device only and never transmitted to our servers or any third parties.

Note: While SplitSpat itself does not collect data, the app displays advertisements from third-party ad networks, which may have their own data collection practices as described in section 9 below.

3. Local Data Storage

All app data is stored locally on your device using your device's secure storage. This means:

• Your expense data never leaves your device
• We have no access to your expense information
• The core app functionality works offline
• Your financial privacy is completely protected

Internet Connection: An internet connection is only required for displaying advertisements. Your expense data is never transmitted.

4. No Information Sharing

Since we don't collect any expense or personal information, we have nothing to share with third parties, advertisers, or anyone else. Your expense data remains private and under your complete control.

Advertising: While ads are displayed in the app, we do not provide any of your personal or expense information to advertising networks. Any data collection by ad networks is handled independently by them.

5. Data Security

Since all data is stored locally on your device, your information is protected by your device's built-in security features. We recommend:

• Keeping your device updated with the latest security patches
• Using device lock features (passcode, Touch ID, Face ID)
• Being mindful of device access in shared environments

6. Data Backup and Transfer

Your expense data may be included in your device's automatic backup systems (such as iCloud or iTunes backup). This is managed entirely by your device and operating system - we have no involvement in or access to these backups.

7. Your Control Over Data

You have complete control over your data:

• All data can be deleted by uninstalling the app
• Individual expenses and groups can be deleted within the app
• No account deletion is needed since no accounts are created
• No data recovery services are available since we don't store your data

8. Children's Privacy

Since we don't collect any personal information, our App can be safely used by users of all ages. No personal information is collected from children or adults.

9. Third-Party Advertising

SplitSpat displays advertisements through third-party advertising networks. These ad networks may collect certain information for the purpose of serving relevant ads and for tracking purposes. This may include:

• Device identifiers (like advertising ID)
• IP address and location data
• App usage patterns and advertising interactions
• Information that may be linked to your identity for advertising purposes

Important distinctions:

• We do not share your expense data or personal information with advertisers
• Ad networks operate independently and have their own privacy policies
• Any data collection by ad networks is handled directly by them, not by us
• Your expense and financial data remains local to your device
• The advertising data collection is separate from your core app usage

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal requirements. We will notify users of any significant changes through app updates.
